Material Icon Selector (for builder)

Hey,

As you all know;

  • We go to material.io/icons to select an icon,
  • Then find it’s original name Google uses (user, group etc.)
  • Select Material Icons as font
  • Insert our name of the icon to the text field.

Phew!

Instead of doing all these, can we have a selector like the one in the community for emojis that we can search icons and get all icons with their names, and then when we click on them, it will get inserted into the text area?

My suggestion is this: we should still select Material Icons as the font from the fonts drop-down. But after we select Material Icons, the text field for the label of the component will turn into a drop-down or a button that will open a pop-up like a grid of icons when clicked on it.

This icon idea might be also applicable for an emoji section selectable from the fonts drop-down, using the same design.

What do you guys say?

Am I the only one who uses the illegible “&#xE316” type names? :joy:

Excluding @Federico_Morrone yes :wink:

It really doesn’t matter whether you use illegible or legible type names. You still go to that damn site and check every icon you want.

I like the process as it is too. :confused:

It can be useful
